Reverse username lookup: where else is this handle used?
Enter a username to run a free reverse username search across 3,450+ sites. You get a list of public profiles that answer for that exact handle, with links to open and verify each one.
Paste a handle or a profile URL. Free, no sign-up; the username is not stored or logged.
What a reverse username lookup does
A normal search starts with a person and looks for their accounts. A reverse username lookup starts with a handle, such as one you saw in a comment, a game lobby or a marketplace listing, and asks where else that handle exists. People tend to reuse usernames, so one handle often leads to a small cluster of related profiles.
Our tool takes the username, builds the profile address for each supported site, and checks whether a public profile answers. Each site comes back as Found, Not found, Blocked or Unknown. Found results often include public profile details such as a display name, avatar and bio, which helps you compare accounts side by side. You can paste a full profile link instead of a bare handle and the tool will pull the username out of it.
What it can and can't do
It can:
- show which of 3,450+ sites have a public profile page for the exact handle;
- show public profile details that the site itself displays, when available;
- let you compare up to five usernames at once, such as a handle and its variants;
- export the results to JSON or CSV so you can keep notes.
It can't:
- tell you who is behind an account, or confirm that two accounts belong to the same person;
- reveal email addresses, phone numbers, real names, locations or IP addresses;
- see private profiles, deleted accounts or anything behind a login;
- guarantee a result. Sites change, block automated checks and sometimes show the same page for real and missing users. Results are leads to verify.
How to find someone's social media from a username
If you know one handle, a username reverse lookup is the fastest way to find someone on social media: enter it above and open each Found profile. Then read the bios. People often link their other accounts or a personal site there, and each link gives you another handle to search.
If you only know a real name, this tool cannot help directly, because it checks usernames, not names. Use each platform's own search box, search the name in quotes in a search engine, or try the forms people often turn into handles (for example janedoe or jane.doe), and expect many unrelated people with the same name. Respect privacy settings: a profile the owner has made private is meant to stay that way.
Reverse Instagram username search
Instagram handles are a common starting point. Paste the handle (or the full instagram.com link) into the box above and the scan will show where the same handle has a public profile elsewhere, for example on TikTok, X, Threads, Pinterest or a creator platform. Use it to check whether an account messaging you matches the person or business it claims to be, or to find accounts impersonating you.
If you only want to know whether a handle exists on Instagram, or whether it is free to claim, use the Instagram username checker. It runs a single live check and links to the profile. A reverse search on Instagram cannot show who runs a private account or what email it was registered with. No tool can do that honestly.
Reverse gamertag lookup
Gamers often keep one handle across Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Twitch, Discord and Roblox. A reverse gamertag search shows where that handle has a public profile, which helps you find a teammate's streaming channel or see whether a name you want is already in use across platforms.
For the consoles specifically, try the Xbox gamertag checker and the PlayStation Online ID checker. Note that Xbox gamertags can contain spaces and may carry a numeric suffix, while most websites do not allow spaces in usernames, so search the version without spaces as well.
Common reasons to run a username reverse search
- Checking a marketplace seller or buyer. Older profiles under the same handle on other sites are a good sign. If the handle exists nowhere else, or only on brand-new accounts, look closer.
- Finding impersonators. Search your own handle to spot accounts copying your name and photo, then report them to the platform.
- Reconnecting with a creator. Found someone's art, music or code under a handle? The same name often leads to their portfolio, shop or streaming channel.
- Auditing your own past. Forgotten accounts under an old nickname still hold your posts and photos. Running your old handles through a reverse lookup finds most of them quickly.
In every case you get a list of places to look. Spend a minute on each profile before you draw a conclusion.
Check a match before you trust it
Two profiles with the same username are often two different people. Before you treat a match as the same person, look for at least two of these:
- The same profile photo, or one a reverse image search connects.
- A link between the accounts, such as one bio linking the other or a shared personal website.
- The same display name, location or job, in the same wording.
- Similar join dates, or activity that started around the same time.
- The same writing style, topics or friends.
One signal is a coincidence; two or more independent ones make a match likely. Write down which signals you found, so you can explain the link later.
Tips for better results
- Search variants. Add common changes such as an underscore, a dot, a trailing number or a shorter form. Up to five usernames run at once.
- Filter by category. On the results page you can narrow to social, gaming, coding, music and other categories to cut the list down.
- Open before you trust. A Found result only means a page answered. Look at the avatar, bio, links and post history to judge whether accounts are related.
- Re-check Blocked and Unknown by hand. These sites gave no clear answer, so open the link yourself.

Frequently asked questions
What is a reverse username lookup?
You start from a username and find the public profiles that use it on other sites. Our tool checks 3,450+ sites and marks each Found, Not found, Blocked or Unknown.
Is this reverse username lookup free?
Yes. It is free with no sign-up. The username is sent to our server only to run the check and is not stored or logged.
Can a reverse username search tell me who owns an account?
No. It only shows which public profile pages answer for a handle. It does not reveal real names, email addresses, phone numbers or locations, and two different people can use the same handle.
Can I find a person by username?
You can find the public profiles that use a username, and a profile may show a display name, photo or bio that the owner chose to make public. The tool does not tell you who the person is, and it is not a people search. Two people can use the same handle, so treat matches as leads.
Is this a social media profile finder?
Only by username. It finds public profiles that use a handle you already know. It cannot find someone on social media from a real name, photo, phone number or email address. For that, use the search and contact-sync features each platform offers.
Can I do a reverse Instagram username search?
Yes. Enter the Instagram handle and the scan shows other sites where the same handle has a public profile. To check Instagram alone, use our Instagram username checker.
Does it work as a reverse gamertag lookup?
Yes. Gaming sites such as Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Roblox and Twitch are part of the 3,450+ sites checked, so a gamertag search shows where the same handle appears. Gamertags with spaces need the version without spaces.
Is this a username tracker?
No. It does not watch a username or alert you when something changes. Each search is a one-off check of what is public right now, and we keep nothing on our side. To follow a handle over time, export the results as CSV and run the same search again later.
Why does a result say Blocked or Unknown?
Some sites block automated checks or return unclear pages. Open those profile links by hand to see what is there.
