WhatsMyName Apps is now FreeUsername. Same tools, same free search, new name. AI features are in testing and coming soon as a beta.
Most people have more of themselves online than they remember. There are the forum accounts from school, the shopping profiles made for one order, the photo app you tried for a week. On top of those sit people-search sites that collect addresses and relatives from public records and list them without asking. None of it is usually dangerous on its own, but together it makes you easier to scam, impersonate or track down.
The guides in this section help you see that footprint and shrink it. Start by searching yourself the way a stranger would, with your name in a search engine and your usernames in a cross-site search. Then work through what you find: secure or delete old accounts, opt out of the people-search sites that list you, and tighten the privacy settings on the social apps you still use.
The steps are practical and mostly free. Where a site makes you confirm by email or phone, we say so, and where a removal tends not to stick, we explain why records reappear and how often to check again.
A quick note on what our own tool does. It checks usernames against public profile pages only. It does not search by real name, phone number or address, and the username you enter is used to run the check and then dropped, not stored or logged.
